The Association of Local Government Authorities of Somaliland (ALGASL) and VNG International organized a transformative two-day training session focused on participatory disaster risk management. This event brought together municipal officials and directors from Hargeisa, Burco, Berbera, Borama, and Gabiley to strengthen local resilience.

The training sessions were designed to equip local leaders with the essential skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage and mitigate disaster risks. By promoting participatory planning, the workshop emphasized the critical role of involving community stakeholders in disaster preparedness and response efforts. This inclusive approach ensures that the diverse needs and perspectives of the communities are considered, enhancing the overall effectiveness of disaster management strategies.

Participants engaged in comprehensive sessions covering key aspects of disaster risk management, including risk assessment, emergency preparedness, response strategies, and recovery planning.
